Background knowledge

The flag of Arkansas is red on it is in the middle of a white diamond outlined in blue. In the blue border are a total of 25 white stars. They stand for the fact that Arkansas joined the USA as the 25th state. In the rhombus are four more blue stars, the three stars that can be seen below the lettering stand for the early colonial powers. The star that can be seen above the lettering represents the Confederate States of America.

The flag was adopted on April 10, 1924. The name comes from a tribe called Arkansas which also means south wind.
