The flag of Pakistan was designed by Ameer-ud-Din Khidwai and on the independence of the country's 14th August 1947 was adopted as the national flag.
The green field of the flag symbolizes the Muslims who make the majority of the population in Pakistan. The white field stands for the non-Muslim minority in the country and was inserted just before independence.
