Meaning and origin of the Upper Austria with coat of arms-Flag:
The flag of upper Austria has two bars, white and red, and a coat of arms with a royal crown up in the center.
On the coat of arms is on the left of a yellow eagle on black background and on the right of four red-white longitudinal strips. The crown is red-white with a cross up.
The flag was already used in 19th century. The colors of the longitudinal strips are taken over from the coat of arms. The today's coat of arms of upper Austria corresponds to the coat of arms of the old Kronland. On this is the crown of an ore duke.
