Background knowledge

The flag of Tyrol has two bars, white and red, and in the center is a coat of arms with a red eagle which is white deposited. Around its head, in a circle arranged are six sheets.

The flag of Tyrol became already in the early 19th century uses. The colors of the bars, red and white, are derived from the coat of arms. The today's coat of arms is also the old coat of arms of the countries and around 1280 was already used. Only since 1567 the eagle has also a garland over the head.
